Patrol Bureau

  • The Patrol Bureau is comprised of 3 Sergeants and 8 Officers providing 24 hour coverage for the City of Sidney.
  • Patrol Officers are responsible for responding to all calls for service received at the police department, answering an average of 8,100 calls per year.
  • In addition to conducting the initial investigation of nearly all crimes reported to the Sidney Police Department they are also responsible for:
    • Assisting other units and divisions within the department
    • Conducting general patrol in an effort to deter crime
    • Enforcing traffic laws
    • Identifying and dealing with hazardous and dangerous conditions within the city
    • Public interactions and education
    • Each officer is encouraged to conduct full investigations on the calls they respond to, as permitted by call load, prior to requesting the case be assigned to an investigator.
