What does the City do with the sludge?: The city has land around the old and new Landfill. After the sludge meets the 503 EPA sludge regulations, the sludge is land applied as fertilizer.

1. How many gallons of water do you treat on a daily basis?: The City’s average daily flow is 600,000 gallons.

2. Do you send all your lab tests to a commercial lab?: No, the City staff is capable of testing BOD/CBOD, Ammonia, Nitrates, Total Nitrogen, Chlorides, pH and TSS on our influent and effluent water. Additionally we perform tests on our sludge such as Total Solids, Volatile Solids and pH.
